Go check her out on Facebook.Moustafa: Dashama, how are you?Dashama: Hi great, how are you?Moustafa: What an honor to be here and how cool could it be we are on a paddle boat that has got your own brand name on it. That’s awesome I mean that must have taken a lot of passion for you to achieve this in your life.Dashama: Absolutely! It’s come a long way I am really excited to see how it’s caught on all around the world. Soft Yoga started in 2008 with a YouTube video and now it’s everywhere.Moustafa: Awesome! So how important is passion in somebody’s life for them to achieve success?Dashama: Passion is everything; it gets you out in the morning, it gets you to give direction in your life. You find your purpose, you find your passion and you then attract everything you need to make it happen.Moustafa: I mean I know you did not start in Yoga, you were in a total different thing, how did you find the passion in Yoga?Dashama: Actually, Yoga came as an interesting, surprising gift to me when I was in a car accident, it was actually five different car accidents but one of them I was riding my bicycle and a car hit me at like 45 miles per hour and it damaged my spine and I lost the curve in my cervical spine and what happened was, doctors all told me there was nothing you can do about this but when I met a Yoga teacher she said she had cured her life with Yoga, that changed everything for me. It gave me hope and it set me on my journey and Yoga helps so many things in my life and I have just felt such a tremendous amount of gratitude for the practice and so that’s really been the source of my passion, to share this with others to alleviate some of the suffering in the world that it did for me.Moustafa: I mean guys if you have seen her before, she does moves that will make you go wow. So the question now becomes- what to do when there is no passion? You don’t know, you know, you must wake up some days and think okay this looks like a tough day today and you’re low on energy, everything seems like it’s the opposite of what you wanted it to be, how do find the passion then?Dashama: I feel that if you connect with three main things it will help you with your passion:
- Connecting with the source. So, you can do that through any kind of spiritual practice whether it’s Yoga or meditation or prayer or going to your house of worship or temple or whatever it is, connect with source and really find your purpose and the reason why you’re alive. Because if you know why you’re alive you are gonna feel passion and the other thing that really helps, I feel, is nature, you know, connecting with the infinite intelligence of nature whether it’s the ocean or a tree or a park, you know, just going out being connected with nature, always reinvigorates passion for me. And also movement, and that’s why I love Yoga because it combines these elements for me, the movements starts to connect with the Prana which is your life force energy, and then you connect with your life force energy it just naturally stimulates more passion in you.
Moustafa: I love the life force energy and I can see the energy, I mean, coming out of you. I am sure it’s great. Thank you very much, it’s been an amazing, fun interview and I really hope your message of spreading innovative types of Yoga around the world is gonna be the most successful ever and keep up the passion, thank you very much!Dashama: Thank you so much. Both: Passion!Moustafa: What do you think?
