Moustafa: Hello everyone and welcome back to Passion Sundays, the best way to end a week and start another! Our guest today is a special leadership mentor who specializes in growth – Catherine! Thank you very much for being with us today!Catherine: My great pleasure, Moustafa!Moustafa: Leadership and growth – two powerful things for people and for organizations.Catherine: Absolutely – it's critical! I can tell you that from my many years of commercial experience but 28 focusing in this particular area that every single organizational failure is a leadership failure. And what I love people do is to grow their businesses, grow their organizations, grow their performance through understanding really principles around evolution in a way that aren’t cliché that people write off because they've heard them all before.Moustafa: Nice. Again leadership is a fairly cliché topic and everybody says 'Every next person is a leadership coach. It comes with the easiest thing because it's sellable'. Every organization wants someone to talk about leadership but how many people can walk the talk?Catherine: That's right. So I guess for me it started with political leadership when I was very young. I very boldly and bravely took leadership of a political organization and learned a lot. That led to commercial leadership in management and in senior management, in national management ranks throughout Australia. I started my own business and very quickly, before I even knew it was working with leaders. I've been National President of our particular organization and International President of our Global Speakers Federation. And I've led another organization worldwide as well, so I'm used to leading volunteers, as well as enrolled commercial team members. And I've learned so much that I'd love to pass on. My great passion is in the study of quantum physics. I hold a Master's Degree of Applied Science and applying the principles of creation to the actual business strategy. It's huge fun.Moustafa: Love it!Catherine: I love it too!Moustafa: So in your opinion what differentiates a passionate leader from just a leader? Because in my books they are two totally different things.Catherine: Absolutely! So my initials, Moustafa, CPB and that stands for Clarity, Passion and Belief.Moustafa: Ok.Catherine: And it starts with the Clarity, knowing what it is to you. Then making sure that it matters so much that you will make yourself uncomfortable for it. I get concerned that people will sign up for things as long as they're comfortable. And when it stops being comfortable, when the Hollywood happy ending disappears, then people give up and walk away whether it's relationship or businesses or team commitment and when the passion is so deeply embedded and continually revived that it isn't forgotten or ever left behind. Then the continual evolution just takes you to another level.Moustafa: I love it! So stay with your passion until the continual evolution gets you to where you become a leader.Catherine: Yes and when the passion starts to wane and we know when it does, go back and remind yourself what is it that drove you in the first place. Or what would happen if you didn't do this work? Or what in the world would suffer because you weren't any longer passionately committed? And continually revive that passion until you find the joy again, which continues to rekindle the passion.Moustafa: Love it! Catherine, thank you very much! This has been a phenomenal interview.Catherine: Thank you! My pleasure!Moustafa and Catherine: Passion!Moustafa: What do you think?
