Moustafa: Hello everyone and welcome back to Passion Sundays, the best way to end the week and start another.
Our guest today, stands to be, one of the most successful fashion consultants that started from a hobby and turned it into a profession, Christian Kasha.
Thank you very much for being with us today.
Christian: Thank you! How are you Moustafa?
Moustafa: Great, thank you very much! So first question is I wanna ask you what does passion mean to you?
Christian: Passion, well passion for me is waking up everyday, happy to go to work, happy to ah spend every minute of my day doing what I love. Ah..it was work…or ah from my own job…or my passion which is the fashion. Umm and then, sleeping and just waiting the, ah…the next day, to wake up again and do the same thing. So that’s passion, and fashion.
Moustafa: That’s passion for fashion also. So, the beauty of what you’re doing is that you actually manage to take your passion for fashion, of the professional career into a hobby, and then merged it back into a career without leaving your job. And that’s what I’m interested in.
Christian: Well…ah yes, I actually ah…I, I’m a full time ah employee. So I work from 9 – 6 like anyone else. But ah…doing my breaks I work in fashion. After hours I work in fashion. It started as a hobby. Uhm almost 4 years, 4 to 5 years ago and ah…I just, just love it so I, I don’t wanna quit my job, I’m happy in my job, I’m really happy in my job. Ummm and no, I actually just changed my job as well. So um I could have stopped and just you know, just work on my passion, I just work on, on my projects now, but I don’t wanna do it. I’m happy in everything I do and I think if you can manage to do everything at the same time, why not? And it helped me in both jobs. When people knows that I have a job and I’m doing my passion and I’m reaching what I have nah, I’m reaching, and I did actually what I did now then they’ll really impressed and then, even at the same time it helped me in my daily job. So, you know, it helped me to know people more. Ah people recognize me sometimes. Ah they wanna work with you cause they like your passion. They like how, you know, how you’re always like motivated. So it’s a whole package, so I just don’t wanna leave anything I’m doing. I just want to do everything.
Moustafa: And, and how easy is it do you balance that, because you make it sound so easy and flawless? But I know your journey hasn’t been that easy at least at the beginning stages.
Christian: Yeah, it’s not easy at all actually. Um, ah for at least six to mostly a year I was working till like maybe 3, 4 in the morning every single day. I wake up at 7. I was sleeping like 3 to 4 hours a day. And people think that I’m busy just going out and happy, and so they think this is the life. Ahhh it’s not, it’s not easy. I suffered a lot in the beginning. I lost 15 kilos and like, 6th month because of that. And I wanted to lose my weight anyway…
Moustafa: (Laughs)
Christian: And still, it was so tiring for me. And so, yeah it’s not easy but if you have really, really passion for it, you’ll do it. If not, people will start and like maybe 3, 4 month, they cannot balance with work. So sometime you gonna, you’re not gonna give all your full energy and everything you have to one of your jobs. So I managed, thank God, I managed ah but it wasn’t easy, but again if you really like it enough, I’d say you can do anything you want, anything you want. Cause I started from scratch, from zero, I had nothing and…
Moustafa: You, you were nowhere near that’s what you’re doing now
Christian: I was actually not very interested in, ah, in what I’m doing. Umm, I always like fashion since I was a kid. Actually I was always like looking at those fashion shows and like, oh how do you do, how do you do this? Ah the whole industry was like oh, something interesting for me. And then one day I said, why, I have an interest, so why not, just you know, go deeper in it, into it. And yeah, I just started it.
Moustafa: Awesome! I love it. So I guess no better way to conclude this episode than actually to talk about, why not pursue your passion, that’s it!
Christian: Why not? But, if you really like it, just go after it, don’t leave it. Just keep on doing it.
